A Big City Dream

You live in a small house away from town
Where poverty and suffering always lets you down
One day I'll be rich and live in the city you think
But little did you know your dreams would shatter in a blink
As you turn twenty two one day
Off to the city you go your way
Struggle  to find a job doesn’t end
To the city life you’re unable to blend
Soon one day a lady approaches you
A job offer in a big city ahead she threw
You become mesmerized and happy again
But the lady had a business of selling men
They held you in an apartment and took your passport away
To fill documents you’d be photographed the next day
It was strange but you believed them
Next, you were put on a plane with a fake passport and a fake name
After landing you were taken to an apartment
Where you were ordered to make ten thousand dollars without a penny being spent
For 11 months waitressing at a nightclub was your job
But one day you saw a police car pull up
Instead of running you let the police arrest you
As you had a fake ID deported back to the city you flew
You had to spend a year in jail
Then you filed a report to not let your self esteem sell
To your luck three of the traffickers were caught
But with all this to streets you were brought
You started working in a restaurant once more
Until you were approached by a NGO at your door
They offered you work you weren’t sure you’d fit in
But slowly began to trust them considering the misery your life had been
Today you work to save others like you
So that no one will have you experience what you went through.
